using Blogs

Chris, Deb or anyone that can help:

I want to use the google blog that I set up called WCReadingCouncil. I haven't been successful in having it available to people under the Blog search thru the Google page. Do I have to invite them to my Blog?
Thanks for any suggestions you can offer.

Podcasting Site -- Easy and Free

Hi Everyone!!!

I miss you all this week!

I discovered a site new to me (I heard about it on Twitter!). It's called GCast. I'm just now trying it for the first time but I think it could be great for us and our students to podcast very, very easily!!

It's at:

www.gcast.com

Chris

Good reading

I've started reading a young adult novel, "Little Brother" by Cory Doctorow about a very tech-savvy high school boy. Good story, big-brother-ish in post 911 America. I feel I understand it better after our full week of tech immersion last week.

voice thread

I was very happy when, looking for information about a plant I bought, that I found myself in Voice Thread. Because of your class, I knew what it was!
Thanks Chris and Deb.

Questions about Voki, Webiste,

This class certainly has increase my ability to use the multiple sites we discussed directly in my classes. I do have several unresolved questions that someone else may have had more success resolving:
1) How do you embed the Voki into a Website or a wiki without having all the HTML information appear, and then not work?
2) Several on my students had trouble with recording sound in their Voicethread, and, in turn, I also had a problem during my attempts in class along with several of my colleagues. Any ideas?
3) My website is in place with photsos of our recent Costa Rica trip, but I am unable to put script in without the underline button activating. There has to be a simple solution to this.
4) I am wondering if there would be an advantage of using Wikispaces instead of Pbwiki for my classes next year. Has any one discovered pros/cons?
Thanks for any input.

Thanks a Bunch!

Thank you so very much for all that you both did in making this such absolute fun!

Dan Hertel

Wow!

This was a great week! I learned way more than I thought I was capable of! I can't wait to use it with my class! I just hope I can remember it all! Don't be surprised if I contact you with questions:)

The End

Hi,
Well, this is the final day. It has been a mind boggling week. I have been learning alot and actually feel much more comfortable with technology. I would imagine by the time I retire if I continue taking classes, I'll be pretty good at this!!!!! I am hoping my movie will save time this year. Am anxious to hear.
Melody

Thank you

This class was terrific! I've taken many technology classes, but I feel like I'm walking away today knowing so much more than I had learned in my other classes. Most of the programs and/or sites were new to me, but being able to use the programs that I was familiar with definitely helped build my confidence in using technology. Thank you so much!

Goodbye made easy

Thank you MMMErs

A big thank you to Deb and Chris for a wonderful class. I can't believe how much I have learned! I hope you teach at the academy again. I would highly recommend your class to other teachers. (As well as take it again myself.) And thanks to all of you for helping, listening, discussing and laughing. It's always uplifting to be in a class that can laugh together. I hope you all have a great rest of the summer. Take Care!

A.2. Read, interpret and critically analyze text.

  • Draw upon a reservoir of reading materials, including fairy tales, fables. Storynory.com, (4) The Hare and the Tortoise
  • Summarize ideas drawn from stories. Teachertube.com, (5) Evaluating Early Reading Comprehension, Kidspiration

Friday's class

Hi Deb and Christine,

Happy trails to you being sung by 4 teachers showed the energy and enthusiasm that you brought to all of us. We sure learned alot and moved our level of techie skills. I plan to use some of the presentation skills this fall when I put together a show for parent night in our building.

If I find more websites I will add them to the wiki over the next few weeks. Thanks for all the patience, support and especially for scaffolding our learning with such expertise!!

MMME - Day 5

Last day - Checked out early, I'm good to go!

Since today was a work day I don't have much to discuss what is new. So I'll just post my 5 video clips, they are intended for sophmore level biology. Once I started looking I found more than enough to satisfy the classes requirement, I could have found many, many more. Its was almost too easy.

Just want to close with a big thank you to Deb and Chris they made the class fun and informative. I pulled in a lot of useful information this week and will definately be using some of my new skill to get ready for the coming school year.

Summary of class

We have learned about many different programs this week and visited many internet sites. Today we briefly touched upon podcasting with the program "Audacity". This has been an excellent class.

Last Day

Wow! What a week. I have certainly learned a lot. I am looking forward to using the programs and all the sites I now am aware of.
Thanks to Chris and Deb for the very worth while class and all their help and patience.

Last Day!
