Podcasts and Standards

Finding educational podcasts was difficult for me. I spent a lot of time online looking and getting frustrated. I don't think that I will use premade podcasts in my classroom. However, I think the students would enjoy making them.

Here is what I finally found....

Some fourth grade standards that could easily be met in science are:
B4.1 Use encyclopedias, source books,etc....to help answer science-related questionsand plan investigations.
B4.2 Acquire info. about people who have contributed to the development of major ideas in the science and learn about the cultures in which these people lived and worked.
Some standards that could easily be met in social studies are:
A4.4 Describe and give examples of ways in which people interact with the physical environment, including use of land, location of communities, methods of construction, and design of shelters.
4.5 Use atlases, databases, etc... to gather information about the local community, Wisconsin, the United States, and the world.
A4.7 Identify connections between the local community and other places in Wisconsin, the United States, and the world.
B4.1 Identify and examine various sources of information that are used for constructing an understanding of the past...
E 4.3 Describe how families are alike and different, comparing characteristics...
E 4.9 Explain how people learn about others who are different from themselves.
E 4.12 Give examples of important contributions made by Wisconsin citizens, United States citizens, and world citizens
