My tour to Thermo Fisher was very interesting and informative! I enjoyed seeing the work environment and learning of their expectations for people they hire. It is very important for us as teachers to help our students be team players, problem solvers and have initiative. I think we do that to some extent every day, but I think it is a good reminder to incorporate even more activities to encourage their growth in these areas.

The discovery learning site seems like it has lots of great things to use and much more user friendly that youtube or teacher tube. I like Holly's idea of using wordle to have the students make one about themselves..typing in their attributes, hobbies, etc. My mind is spinning with ideas on how to use voicethread...book reports, presenting stories, etc. I'm interested in reading what others plan on doing with it!
